Firefighter trainees make an annual salary of 45,093. Once certified as a Firefighter I/II the new Firefighter will be placed on Firefighter Step 6 ($51,016 Avg), those with a qualifying Associate's Degree and the Top Recruit or Top EMT will be placed on Step 7 ($52,547 Avg), those with a qualifying Bachelor's Degree will be placed on Step 8 ($54,124 Avg). Those with a qualifying Master's degree will be placed on Step 9 ($55,748 Avg.). The Fire Chief must approve all pay rate assignments.
